Comments: Shinsakuto by Enomoto Tatsuyoshi of the Gassan school. Tatsuyoshi has won many awards in the NBTHK sword contests, and is a featured smith in the book "Swordsmiths for the 21st Century", by Mr. Tsuchiko. This is in fresh polish with new shirasaya. A very nice example of the Soshu style. While the blade has a few very small kitae kizu which do not show well in the photos, they do not detract from the blade.

Comments: Yasuaki was the last of the Yasukuni smiths. His work is quite rare. He won several awards in the NBTHK swordmaking contests. This blade comes in shirasaya with gold habaki. Excellent blade with some rubbing. Polish is about 90%.

Comments: This is the shodai Kawashima Tadayoshi, a famous early Showa smith who worked in Shimane. This blade has a deep, clear ji-gane with a very active, bright hamon well lined with nie. A superior gendai-to on the same level as Tsukamoto Okimasa, Horii Toshihide, and the like. Sword blade with new habaki only.

Sugata: Hira-zukuri tanto.
Kitae: Well forged itame with ji-nie.
Hamon: Vivid suguha with a thick, bright ko-nie lining the habuchi. There are fine activities within the yakiba.
Boshi: Komaru.

Comments: Toshikazu was a student of the famous shinshinto smith Tsunatoshi. He worked in Yotsuya, Edo at the end of the Bakumatsu period. He was a very skilled smith whose work is rare due to the Haito-rei. In fresh polish with new habaki and shirasaya. A very high quality shinshinto tanto.

Hamon: Gunome with deep ashi and a habuchi lined in thick nie. Some tobiyaki.

Comments: This is by the Meguro, Tokyo smith Tomida Sukehiro, who trained at the forge of Horii Taneaki along with his three Uncles (Kato Masakuni, Sukekuni, Kanekuni) and Horii Toshihide. He was a Jumei Tosho and well-respected smith during the war whose work was highly regarded. This blade is in shirasaya with new habaki. Has some scratching. On the same level as the better Yasukuni blades.

Comments: Shigeyasu was an Osaka smith who worked during the Kanbun period. This blade exhibits well the jiba Osaka Shinto is famous for. In fresh polish with new habaki and shirasaya. This sword should pass shinsa at Tokubetsu Hozon level.
